Custom Foot Orthotics

FLI_Imbalanced_Skeleton.jpgSound Sports & Family Chiropractic offers Custom Made Orthotics using a state-of-the-art, scientifically designed, computerized foot scanning system developed by Foot Levelers Orthotics. This device is used by Dr. Krieger to produce custom-made "Spinal Pelvic Stabilizers" that literally stabilize the spine and pelvis by balancing the feet. By wearing these Spinal Pelvic Stabilizer (SPS) Orthotics that fit inside your shoes, many of our patients find relief for common neck and back problems. Please read on for the answers to some frequently asked questions.

How Can a Problem in my Feet Contribute to Pain in my Neck or Back?

Your feet are the foundation of your body. They support you when you stand, walk, or run. Moreover, they help protect your spine, bones, and soft tissues from damaging stress as you move around.

Your feet perform better when all their muscles, arches and bones are in their ideal stable positions.

The foot is constructed with three arches which, when properly maintained, give exceptional supportive strength. These three arches form a supporting vault that distributes the weight of the entire body. If there is compromise of one arch in the foot, the other arches must compensate and are subject to additional stresses, which usually lead to physical problems throughout
                                                        your body.

Lack of stability in the feet can lead to distortions and a muscular imbalance all the way up the spine. When you have problems with your feet, there is a negative impact on your knees, hips, pelvis, back and neck.

With foot pronation and the associated collapse of the arches in one or both of your feet, the base point of your body's center of gravity shifts forward. This causes other parts of your body to try and compensate for this shift. Eventually, the head attempts to maintain its position over the vertical center of gravity by moving forward. This can lead to pain and/or stiffness over time. The body must work harder to maintain a standing posture. Our SPS Orthotics, combined with the chiropractic treatment we provide, help stabilize your body.

By stabilizing and balancing your feet, our Orthotics enhance your body's performance and efficiency, reduce pain, and contribute to improved spinal function and total body wellness.

How Spinal Pelvic Stabilizers Work
FLI_ColorFeetScan.jpg
Wearing Spinal Pelvic Stabilizers inside your shoes is similar to placing a shim beneath the leg of a wobbly table: it adds support to eliminate unwanted motion in the entire structure. The foot is formed of three distinct arches, which create an architectural vault. The result of supporting these three arches is improved stability and postural integrity.

Flexible Spinal Pelvic Stabilizers encourage optimal muscle and nerve function by guiding the feet through a more normal pattern with each step taken.

Our SPS Orthotics are made with a combination of flexible, yet supportive and durable construction materials. Unlike other stabilizing technologies which use rigid materials to force the feet into a theoretical "ideal" position and may result in muscle atrophy and abnormal nerve sensations, our Orthotics allow controlled, supported movement for the dynamic human body.

Pain Relief Could Be Only Two Feet Away

Even if your feet don't hurt, they may be a major factor contributing to your health problems. Pain in various parts of your body may be traced directly to your feet. A foot problem may be the cause of discomfort or pain in your leg/hip, knee, back, arm/shoulder or even your neck. Custom-made, flexible SPS Orthotics may be part of the solution to your health problems.

Patients with certain types of spinal problems benefit from custom made orthotic support. These devices stabilize the foundation of the pelvis and spine by first addressing structural problems with the feet, thereby reducing abnormal forces and stresses, while enhancing structural and functional relationships.

Testimonials

Reviews By Our Satisfied Patients

  • "I was very impressed with the chiropractic care I received from Dr. Anderson. I had received chiropractic in the past for my neck pain, but not to this level of care. After only a few sessions, my symptoms began to disappear, especially my neck pain, and I know I would not have been able to perform to my everyday work functions without the treatment I received."
